Spurs vs. Thunder live updates, score from NBA Cup semifinals today

Perhaps the return of Victor Wembanyama can derail the defending NBA champions because nothing else has worked to this point in the 2025-26 regular season.

The San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder meet Saturday, Dec. 13 in a much anticipated NBA Cup semifinal matchup in Las Vegas that is also expected to serve as Wembanyama’s return to game action after missing more than a month with a calf strain. The 7-foot-5 star faces a tall task right off the ball ‒ a Thunder team on pace to set NBA records for wins and NET rating after losing just once through its first 25 games.

Wembanyama was averaging career highs in most statistical categories and emerging early on as a potential MVP candidate before being sidelined, although San Antonio managed his absence and remains a contender in the Western Conference. Reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander remains the betting favorite in the midst of an even more efficient season than last year and the Thunder are seeking a 14th-consecutive win. They all get a deserved spotlight as part of the NBA’s in-season tournament.
