Drew Mestemaker stats as North Texas QB throws for 608 yards

North Texas football quarterback Drew Mestemaker had a night for the record books against Charlotte — literally.

The Mean Green quarterback set a program and American Conference single-game record for most passing yards in North Texas’ 54-20 win. He threw for 608 yards against the 49ers. He also finished with four passing touchdowns on the night: a 41-yard pass to Cameron Dorner, a 6-yard pass to Caleb Hawkins, a 7-yard pass to Hawkins and 70-yard pass to Wyatt Young.

The Austin, Texas native was added to the Manning Award Watch List on Thursday, Oct. 23.

Mestemaker’s record-breaking night not only keeps the Mean Green’s hopes of appearing in the American Conference championship game alive, but also keeps them in contention for the Group of Five’s College Football Playoff berth. ESPN’s CFP predictor had North Texas with a 14% chance of making the 12-team field entering the Charlotte game.

Here’s a deeper look into Mestemaker’s night and where it ranks among FBS quarterbacks:
