Watch: Messi, Apple launch MLS ad after Super Bowl

Yeah, an American football.

Messi, the Inter Miami star and Argentine World Cup champion, was featured in a post-Super Bowl film by Apple TV on Sunday night – reminding sports fans about the upcoming soccer season.

Messi is seen dribbling a football like a soccer ball, before a grand finale of kicking the football through a goal post with the catchphrase: “When football ends, fútbol begins.”

Messi, Apple TV, Major League Soccer, Inter Miami and Royal Caribbean wasted no time sharing their campaign as the NFL’s season came to an end.

The MLS season begins with Messi and Inter Miami playing in the first game of the season on Feb. 22 against New York City FC. All MLS games are available on MLS Season Pass from Apple TV.

Messi attended Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans, watching the Philadelphia Eagles dismantle the Kansas City Chiefs, along with his fellow Inter Miami teammates Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, and their children.

Messi’s oldest son, Thiago, wore a Jalen Hurts Eagles jersey at the game, while his two youngest sons wore Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs jerseys.

Messi’s newest Inter Miami jersey – a two-toned, pink home kit nicknamed Euforia – was also prominent in the promotional video.

The light and easy pink, striped two-toned design is reminiscent of Argentina’s World Cup-winning jerseys, which will surely attract Messi’s legion of fans worldwide.

Royal Caribbean remains as Inter Miami’s official jersey partner, while the jersey also features sleek black accents.

The jersey celebrates Inter Miami’s continued rise in Major League Soccer and the international stage. It will be worn for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

Messi and Inter Miami will compete in the FIFA Club World Cup this summer, among several tournaments during the 2025 MLS season. Inter Miami also plans to open a new stadium, Miami Freedom Park, in 2026.

Beginning Feb. 12, Inter Miami’s new jersey will available on MLSstore.com, adidas.com, and at Inter Miami’s team stores inside Miami International Airport and at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Royal Caribbean will also have the jersey available for purchase on their ships.

Inter Miami’s new jersey was first unveiled when club co-owners Jorge and Jose Mas presented Argentine president Javier Milei with one autographed by Messi during a trip to the country last week.

MLS, Inter Miami, adidas and retailers have enjoyed massive jersey sales since the Argentine World Cup champion and eight-time Ballon d’Or winner joined the league in July 2023.

Messi had the league’s top selling jersey in 2023 and 2024. He continues to rank No. 1 globally for adidas in jersey sales of individual players.

Inter Miami’s retro-inspired third kit – a teal and orange jersey drawing comparison to the NFL’s Miami Dolphins colorway – was the fastest selling jersey in league history. It recorded the most sales in the first day, week, and month of any newly launched jersey in MLSstore.com history.

Messi, 37, won MLS MVP after helping Inter Miami win the Supporters’ Shield and set the league record for most regular season points (74) last year.

Messi is under contract with Inter Miami through the 2025 MLS season. He has not yet declared to play for Argentina in the 2026 World Cup hosted in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
